The photos in this series were taken in city streets around the world, including Los Angeles, New York, Portland, Seattle, Raleigh/Durham, Istanbul, Venice, Torino, Florence and Sardinia. My eye is attracted to the ways in which shape, color and form unintentionally cohere into interesting compositions. I capture these beautiful accidents, then work with the color inherent in the image to enhance its impact and delight. My subjects are formed by human intervention, weather, erosion and light, and as a result they are constantly in flux. After the moment I capture the images, these dynamic forces will continue to alter and sometimes eradicate my compositions, a process of ephemerality that is in some ways similar to the moments I capture as a documentary filmmaker.
